I have now been teaching for 30 years! My knowledgebase is varied but laser focused on the classical principles of Dressage mixed with natural horsemanship. I believe that clear and precise communication through the natural methods of horsemanship combined with the classical principles of dressage create a correct foundation through which success in various disciplines is possible. There is a shortage of up-and-coming trainers and horsemen/women in our industry and my desire is to help develop more potential future equine athletes and professionals. My curriculum is developed for the competitive student or aspiring professional. Lessons are taught in private and group settings for advanced beginner to advanced riders. Lessons begin with correct grooming and tacking technique, and end with proper after-care after the lesson.
I LOVE to teach new horse owners. As a barn manager over the years, taking care of hundreds of different horses, I have seen so many well meaning people get in over their heads with new horse ownership. I've seen so much mis-information and bad teaching, and bad internet learning - So many horses the victim of misuse of google. So over my years I have a developed a sincere desire to see new partnerships thrive and grow correctly. If you are thinking of buying, or if you are struggling with new horse ownership and you are open and teachable - I welcome the challenge. Arm yourself with knowledge and grow through correct hands on experience. Learn about how to navigate a boarding facility, feeding practices, basic first aid, colic prevention, pasture and fence maintenance, proper stall keeping and maintenance, blanketing technique and theory.
PKE travels to local shows where students can demonstrate their skills and learn the fundamentals of being competitive including good sportsmanship.
Our intermediate and advanced students have opportunities to travel to local and out of state recognized competitions. Or simply enjoy the sport as a hobby! There is a place for everyone at Peachy Keen Equestrian!
Our goal is to work with everyone at his/her own pace to develop solid horsemanship skills on and off their horse in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
